INT. APARTMENT. DAY.
Low-quality daylight. Despite the squalor the room is furnished with antiques. A young man sits in one of several chairs. He isn't comfortable. He is wired.
MARWOOD
I'm going for a cup of tea. D'you want one?
WITHNAIL (O.S.)
No.
INT. KITCHEN. DAY.
Something must be done to maintain equilibrium. A hypnotic blue flame circles the kettle.
EXT. STREET. CAMDEN TOWN. DAWN.
A boarded-up warehouse opposite. A clapped-out Jaguar parked outside a line of old dwellings.
WITHNAIL
I have some extremely distressing news.
MARWOOD
My God, it's a nightmare out there.
WITHNAIL
We've just run out of wine. What are we gonna do about it?
EXT. REGENT'S PARK. LONDON. DAY.
Black railings against mist. Half a dozen wolves are hanging about, looking pissed off.
WITHNAIL
This is ridiculous. Look at me. I'm thirty in a month.
Why can't I have an audition? I've been to drama school. I'm good looking.
